Jemima John, PHD, Education Committee,          Commonwealth of Dominica

Jemima is a behavioral scientist at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Her research examines key social determinants of heath that contribute to racial/ethnic disparities in food insecurity, physical activity, and related chronic conditions with a multilevel, multicomponent approach to addressing social needs in these underserved communities.

Jemima’s work has been presented at symposia and institutional events and across respected peer-reviewed health journals. Her priority interests education, female empowerment and mentorship, and community development.

Jemima enjoys outdoor activities and is a horror enthusiast. She holds a PHD in Epidemiology, with minors in Biostatistics and Social and Behavioral health from the University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston.
